Wedding season

Weddings are an important occasion in a couple’s life and the day is usually marked with spectacular celebration. The families are keen on making sure everything is perfect and planning often begins over a year in advance to ensure the same. Flowers are a big part of the celebrations and the right types, colours and arrangements should be planned ahead of time and communicated to the florist to ensure the availability of the best varieties on that day. Some of the typical flower requirements on a wedding day include:

Bridal bouquet

The bridal bouquet is an eye catching piece picked by the bride herself. It is a statement of the bride’s choice, feelings on that day and personal creativity. Everyone enjoys watching the bride walk down with her flower arrangement in hand. Traditional bouquets are sometimes replaced with flower rings or other variations. Artificial flowers can also be used in place of fresh flowers if the bride wishes to preserve the piece after the wedding for memories.

Table settings

A center flower arrangement on guest tables can work with a theme and make a setting look elegant. The overall look with many tables and flowers makes for great pictures and looks charming. This is a good space to get creative with ideas from social media sites like Pinterest.

Hall décor

The reception can be enhanced with the use of fresh or artificial flowers at the entrance, in tall vases, around a stage, in the overhead décor….the possibilities are endless. It is best to keep the size of the venue in mind and present the florist with the budget and choices and let them work out the possibilities.

Wedding cakes are a spectacular sight and a visual treat. More often than not they are designed towering, many tiered and grand. Flowers can add a fantastic look to a cake depending on the cake designer’s vision. Flowers on and around the cake can have a beautiful effect and make for great pictures too.
