Muscat: Continuing its mission to inspire young change-makers to learn, collaborate, innovate, and co-create solutions, Khimji Ramdas (KR) Group facilitated the training and infrastructure support of 21 promising Omani youngsters who have completed the ‘Innovative Leader Programme’ under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth’s (MoCSY).
During the two-week programme held at the Khimji Ramdas Training facility, the talented participants were mentored by professionals and experts, that included sessions by Khimji Ramdas’ senior management team. The primary objective was to transform their interests pertaining to the fourth industrial revolution, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and 3D Printing into future professions and skills.
Participants underwent a five-step approach to transform their creative and innovative project ideas into products and services that will meet the needs of local and international markets. Several crucial science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) areas were introduced to them during the course of the programme.
In highlighting the benefits of empowering the next generation through initiatives of this kind, Kanan Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas Group averred, “Omani youth are incredibly innovative and talented. The ‘Innovative Leader Programme’ is a non-profit community initiative run by the MoCSY to engage talented youth to the concepts of artificial intelligence, scientific research, and innovation through practical workshops, while promoting global awareness. The programme equally aims to enhance the leadership, communication, collaboration, decision-making and creative capacities of the youth.
